From larryS' mention of Fleck to MrV's constant referral to EDM, I reckon there's a lot of different sounds we could turn each other onto. So let's.
I'm not going to pop a song in here everyday. Rather, just post whatever's got your spirit now. Old, new, pop, I-knew-them-before-they-were-cool, etc. A song you just found and love, a song that reminds you of a little story, whatever. I'll start with a blatant attempt to get MrV to talk about his love of EDM...
This time of the year, lazy summer, with the long days and warm, humid nights, sort of wisps me back to my party days. Those days when anything could happen, as you weren't tethered to shelter. Days when you munch a bunch of shrooms and dance until dawn amidst the trees. Chromeo takes me to that time.
I suppose it's nu-disco as opposed to EDM, but it's close. It's odd as I generally shun the Skrillex-esque noise I hear so often today, but every now and again, I do come across something, in any genre, really, that I just really dig. Chromeo does that for me. It's almost synth pop, basically today's Hall and Oates, but ya know...
I really dig it. It's even got me listening to Hall and Oates themselves, who for my whole formative life, was a crap duo I had to listen to on old people radio.
I dunno. I guess I'm shedding my cool as I metamorph into the middle age.

Back in college and shortly thereafter I discovered the music of Nils Lofgren.
see:
This concert was recorded at about the same time I caught him at Ebbet's Field, a nightclub in downtown Denver.

He was basically a lone wolf til he joined Springsteen; a fair match, but I always thought he would have been better off joining Fleetwood Mac.
Speaking of the Mac, I freakin' love their old music, back when they were a British blues band.
Many people are unaware of the bands circuitous history: worth looking into.
Here's an oldie but goodie:
The live Boston Tea Party recordings are a "must have" for any serious Fleetwood Mac fans.

I had no idea BMW was a Fleetwood Mac song. Then again, I kinda dislike FM. They got big and faded before I was born. I did find their aforementioned rollercoaster ride of somewhat interest. How the fuck you cheat on your bandmate lover, AND write a song about it, AND make them play it? Savage as fuck, if you ask me.

Dan Tyminski... fuckin A, man.
You may have heard him before. He was the singer for Avicii's "Hey Brother". Also, I reckon he must've been one of the singers for the Soggy Bottom Boys in the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou". In any case, he plays with former country star turned Bluegrass purist Allison Krauss and their band Union Station, with a few diddies peeled off for himself that he does solo. And goddamn but am I into it. Granted, there's quite a bit of him that's too Jesus-centric and gospel-y for me, but as one who can't get enough of folksy bluegrass, Tyminski himself is fast becoming one of my favorites.
There's something about a dobro, man. It's like the opposite of nails on a chalkboard. Oh, it hits my spine and gives me chills, but in a way that nothing else can. And if you drag a dobro out as this song does, then come kick in the doors with a fiddle / banjo / mandolin, then at least for the moment, everything is right with the world.

I enjoy the tunes, keep em coming. Here's one, with a local, Portland connection (crank up the volume): Recorded live in Portland: a great CD with no weak songs. Note: I've long been a fan of KD Lang, who now resides in the Pearl district here in Stumptown. Warning to LarryS.: the band has at least one lesbian and some longhairs; please check your prejudices / fears at the front door for this one.

I enjoy the tunes, keep em coming. Couldn't agree more. That last I really dug. Very melancholy, reminds me of college. That feeling when you realize you're in something really great, but it is going to / nearing an end. Or said different, like Indian Summer. Those 3-5 days of perfect 75 and calm breeze in October, the last peek of light and hope before 180 straight days of fucking grey and dark and cold. Good stuff.

LOL ... Webb Pierce
Such a lame lip synch, he doesn't even fake trying to play guitar, he just strums off beat and never moves his fingers on the frets.
Or is that authentic country?

if football playyers wore helmets like the one "liz" was wearing.....concussions would not be an issue
some of the music is canned, but i think he is singing
country music romanticizes a stay in prison with such giggles and smiles, They will sing about the pain of their women leaving them, the heartache, the remorse.
But they will never sing about the feeling and the pain of having a large hard cellmates cock in their ass for the first time/
