the black man during and after slavery learned to tap dance. They were tap dancing to stay alive. They put their self respect aside for the noble cause of survival.
some things are worth tap dancing for, some things arent
when the organ grinder plays the music we can choose to dance or not.
its an individual decision
I am sure my dad did his share of tap dancing in order to survive the camps.
I would do the same
I have done my share of tap dancing in order to retain a job, for financial survival. Well worth tap dancing in order to support a family.
But to tap dance in order to have the opportunity to post on a for profit website's message board......not for me. Some things are worth tap dancing for....
for me, a message board is not one of those things.
for others..it is.
to each his own

My opinions haven't changed, nor have my thoughts.
Unlike some, I've come to see the wisdom in Benjamin Franklin's adage:
"He who would live in peace and ease
Must not speak all he knows, nor judge all he sees."
As for "tap dancing," it probably helps that I took dancing lessons in seventh and eighth grade.

My opinions haven't changed, nor have my thoughts. Unlike some, I've come to see the wisdom in Benjamin Franklin's adage: "He who would live in peace and ease Must not speak all he knows, nor judge all he sees." As for "tap dancing," it probably helps that I took dancing lessons in seventh and eighth grade. We look at things differently. You buy into the line that manboy wants you to buy into....that the message board is there for free and you should thank your lucky stars that its there for you. You need to tap dance in order to avoid punishment. Thats the culture they create. They provide value to you...and you are a useless piece of shit, so dance little monkey dance. While I view that for profit website as a business where I am the customer. ..Just like I am a customer when I go to Dennys. At dennys I give them money, and they give me the enjoyment of a place to sit and enjoyable food. At a "for profit" website that has a message board, ..they provide me the enjoyment of being able to post...and in exchange I dont give them money....but my "currency" is my time and effort and in some cases , my expertise. My "currency" gives members and lurkers a reason to visit the board and or stay longer at the board....and perhaps read a banner and perhaps even click on a banner and go forward to deposite money at an online casino. If the message board doesnt help provide income...the new owners would have dumped it....and wold have wiz spend more time writing articles and such, Message boards require upkeep,,,,and it costs them money to have someone provide that upkeep. You only do that if its financially wise to do so. So I do not tap dance (as you put it) for management of a for profit business....whether its walmart, dennys or wov. I am the customer. I provide value. And I like to see myself and my neighbors treated as valued customers. the "if u dont like it, dont let the door hit you" attitude is quite reasonable for people like you who feel they(mods and other management) hold all the cards...and you are a useless piece of shit offering no value. iTS "MIKES PLACE". well it could be said that walmart was Sam Waltons "place"......and its his money (and now shareholders) that pay for the 4 walls of the building, the shelving, the heat, the employees.....But I dont need to tap dance for Sam. Even if it is "his place". And I never felt I had to tap dance for the manboy, BBb, mission....even though they require it. Sam or his rep never would say "dont let the door hit you".....if a customer complained.Even if a customer vehemently complained. Customers are not required to tap dance on order to gain admittance. Customers arent shamed. Unevenly punished. Mocked as they are punished as being a weak link. They arent subject to "bad mood" punishments. Wov is no different than walmart, dennys, mom and pop furniture stores. They are all "for profit" and they all accept some sort of currency from me in exchange for something. And because of that symbiotic relationship......I needent tap dance. They need the customer more than the customer needs them....as it is normally in the business world. however there are always customers that shrink into a corner and thank god that they are allowed into dennys, walmart, joes furniture store and wov....and are willing to tap dance for these for profit organizations.

I enjoy the ability to interact with others online as to topics which interest me, especially when it costs me nothing except my time in viewing and posting.
If the price I have to pay, if the "tap dancing" necessary to avoid being banned, requires that I not overtly insult or troll others, well, I think it's a price I can pay as it passes my "cost / benefit analysis."

and "insult" and "troll" are floating ever changing, subjectively defined entities that go in your favor depending on how well you tap dance . Part of tap dancing is kissing up.....and the more you do..the more equity you build up in getting favorable definitions of "insult" and "troll" when assigned to you.
Because of your desire to tap dance you would never be punished for calling someone a"real genius" . That would not be an overt "insult" from you.
That is a climate that no successful "for profit" business would ever inflict on its customers. That is, if they wanted to maximize customers and profits. But there will always be folks that accept that climate...and that is enough for that business. Which is fine.
There was the "soup nazi" seinfeld episode that showed that people would tap dance for a soup store owner just so they could get good tasting soup. There will always be a sector of people willing to tap dance. What the episode didnt show of course was there there were people who refused to tap dance and were ejected from the establishment who never returned, or people who saw their newighbors treated shabily and never returned. The owner of the soup store knew this and was quite happy to just have his smaller circle of customers,,,the ones that would tap dance. Most likely to feed a need in his poorly developed psyche...just like the wiz.
And the folks at wov make that decision.....to just accept the folks that must have wov, needs wov, and feels they(members) are of no consequence , of little value and that wov holds all the cards. They will tap dance for the wov "soup".
I dont tap dance for soup orthe like.
But like MY DAD.....i would tap dance for my life and or the physical or financial well being of my family.
there is absolutely no place of profit making business that I would tp dance for. If anything like any good business..they will tap dance for me, and value my business. Its called customer service. Being kind, understanding, sympathetic, consistent and attentive to the needs and comments of the customer.
kind, understanding and attentive, consistent are not words that describe the oversee-ers of wov.
(EDITED.......ADDITIONS IN PLACE)

WoV is still chugging along, tight moderation and all.
Many "mainstream" members prefer that mods be active, as active moderation helps keep things on topic and from degenerating into a flame fest.
Your point is that the moderation on that board has not been done fairly; I am only stating that without it the place would be in chaos.
You were (probably) banned due to your relentlessness in challenging the powers that be and their business model, which is not the usual reason people get bounced.
You made them nervous, it would seem, and they didn't much care for the feeling.

"RELENTLESS IS REVISIONIST HISTORY.
I posted 3 posts on the topic in a back and forth with another person or persons who responded to me.
Yes I am sure it hit a nerve and made people uncomfortable....but it was just 3 posts on the topic. No way relentless.
It was merely an argument that had merit and would stand the test of a back and forth discussion. If it was a thread of its own...someone would have closed it. But in order to stop that conversation they couldnt close that particular thread...so the only thing the wiz could do to stop it was to ban.
Yes he was uncomfortable.Obviously.
And it put him in a "bad mood"
And he did say when he is in a bad mood he likes to punish. ...So he did what he is apt to do. He acted in character. Nothing shocking here.
Wheter I was right or wrong in my commentary....my comments were cogent enough to draw attention and create a healthy debate. A healthy debate on a thread that was created to discuss the decisions of mods, the behavior of mods in the context of suspensions.
Totally on topic.
My commentary challenged the culture of "Its mikes place, so fuck off" .....with "It mikes place, a for profit business that should treat us as valued customers with respect and consistency...(.especially if you are going to ask us for money and reasons why we dont give)".
In my opinion, worth a debate. Its just as valid a conversation as "whats your favorite womans body part" or 50 pages on throwing up at a mcnugget eating contest..or 100 pages regarding the weight loss of an attention whore.

Translation #2: I wrote that I am making my last post; not that I am leaving. Nor did I write, my final post. And, ever is forever? Note the position of the comma. In any event, I did make my last post, each time. Were I to remake it, then I would have to repeat it when it is made?
