By the way, Babes in ToylanD is an interesting choice. It has a special effect at the end with the wood soldiers marching that I looked forward to. But I cant remember the plot so much....so I dont think it had a lasting effect on me. I probably havent seen that movie for 50 years. I cant even remember clicking around and seeing it listed. I could really use a good Laurel and Hardy movie or "short"....but you dont see them around as well as abbott and Costello movies.(I remember liking Jack and the Beanstalk as a kid)

You can find all these plus much more on YouTube.
I watch a lot of The Three Stooges there, and have viewed the Babes in Toyland flick there as well.

we are even considering ordering Knishes from a place i brooklyn.....sent in dry ice....very expensive.

There's some good pie to be had outside of Portland.
We go to New York City Pizzeria; very close to the real deal.
No good deli up here.
Still good deli in LA, and the star of "Deli Man" has a successful operation in Houston, of all places.

Like the title says. Here's one: "The Eagle Huntress." I saw this movie and I wonder what you thought of it. First it was worth it to see because I learned about a part of the world I knew nothing about. But on the other side I found it trying to be preachy when it didnt have to be...and a little contrived. preachy in the early subtitles of someone saying..girls can doanything men can, and the final song over the credits by Sia..."you can do anything". Just tell the story...we can draw our own conclusions. You dont have to spoon feed us the agenda. And contrived....I wonder if the presence of cameras influenced the reaction of judges and scoring. Or even money changing hands for the right to film the event with the purpose of having a 13 year old girl win. In a world that is not touched by TV and liberal agendas, and womens lib.....where a simple radio is the only tie to the outside world...when the contest started and the judging of the attire was going on...the girl got 10-10-8-8. This is the place where its total judgement, and a statement that she didnt belong there would have surfaced with lower scores....at least by one old world judge. From that point on I figured she would win. And I wish there was a voice over that explained how the eagle was trained, since she wasnt around 5 days a week. Who trained it, how many hours a day does it take. What keeps it from flying away. I didnt get the idea of the kind of rigorous training is required. She started the movie at age 13, and was announced as still 13 at the contest. Alot of training had to occur in less than a year, where she can become so in tune with the eagle. Also, eagles are fearless, they are on you tube picking up sheep, attacking humans,.....dont tell me the mom eagle wouldnt be attacking the girl with every ounce of energy as she slowly approached the nest and then raided the nest. My guess is that the mom was killed or tranquilized. And the shots of the mom circling up above was shot before hand. A 13 year old girl is no match for a full grown mother eagle protecting her young. To be able to get that shot without the girl getting attacked...it had to be somewhat set up. It was worthwhile seeing, just to see how people live in that part of the world by adapting to their environment and not seeming to suffer like I would if I was there. But there was a phoniness to it for me...and a preachyness to to it.

LarryS., I enjoyed "The Eagle Huntress" quite a bit, mainly because it was beautifully photographed film shot in an exotic location showing exotic people doing exotic things.
Yeah, there was some contrived bullshit, but overall it seems legit: the first hard core eagle huntress, finally breaking into what had always been a man's world type of activity.
So unique, so refreshing: like drinking good quality lemon Italian soda over ice.

She is the first eagle huntress caught on film.
you can be an eagle hunter/huntress without winning a contest.
its kind of like being an AP.
for a reality show, this documentary was ok
